Forehead Lift in Dallas
Do your friends and loved ones comment that you look tired or grumpy, even when you feel happy and refreshed? This is something Dr. Bogdan hears during many consultations with patients who come in seeking facial rejuvenation. The upper face, which is so crucial to our facial expression, is one of the first areas to succumb to the signs of aging, but it is also an area that can be substantially improved through a procedure known as brow or forehead lift. Dallas plastic surgeon Dr. Bogdan performs brow lifts to correct the deep, horizontal forehead lines, vertical frown lines, and drooping eyelids that contribute to a fatigued or even stern expression.
The brow lift is a procedure that is designed to raise the eyebrows into a more youthful position. This effectively "opens up" the eyes and relieves that fatigued, scowling look. Dallas plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Bogdan specializes in facial procedures such as the brow lift, and also performs rejuvenation procedures such as rhinoplasty and face lift in Dallas. He has trained extensively with some of the leaders in aesthetic plastic surgery, and he has acquired advanced techniques which he uses in all of his facial plastic surgery procedures.

Choosing Forehead Lift
What is a Brow Lift?
The purpose of a forehead or brow lift is to restore a more youthful appearance to the upper face, which is one of the first areas to succumb to the effects of aging. The brow lift does just what the name implies - it lifts the brow. Beyond that, the procedure effectively makes the forehead skin tighter, smoothing out horizontal lines, and reducing the droopiness of the upper eyelids. Furthermore, the vertical lines between the eyes, or "frown lines" are also diminished, resulting in an overall refreshed and rejuvenated appearance in the upper face. This procedure also creates some weakening of the muscles that cause frown lines, an effect similar to BOTOX® Cosmetic, but far longer-lasting.
Newer endoscopic techniques enable the forehead lift to be performed through 3 to 5 small incisions placed in the scalp, compared to the older traditional techniques which used a continuous incision across the top of the head. This procedure can be performed under local anesthesia with sedation and may be combined with other eyelid or facial procedures, such as eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) in Dallas. Through the small (less than 2 cm) incisions, tissue is repositioned to create a more youthful appearance. Some of the forehead muscles are weakened, which will cause them to contract less after surgery, eliminating the frowning or fatigued appearance. The outpatient procedure requires approximately 30 to 45 minutes of surgical time.
