Blepharoplasty, Blepharoplasty (lower), Blepharoplasty (upper), Face Lift, Neck Lift Before & After Photos

This 51 year old woman from the Dallas / Fort Worth area presented to my plastic surgery practice in Southlake with complaints of facial aging. She was specifically bothered by skin laxity along her neck and face, bands in her neck, and tired appearing eyes. She was interested in a face lift Dallas style - meaning that she did not want to be noticeably pulled, but rather have a natural, refreshed look. There are many Dallas plastic surgeons performing face lift surgery, but she had learned of my particular interest in facial rejuvenation, and was excited to hear my opinion.

I felt that she was an excellent candidate for a face lift and neck lift to sharpen her jawline, define her neck, and improve the dynamic appearance of her cheek skin. Additionally, I recommended a combined approach blepharoplasty, with transconjunctival removal of fat (to smooth the contour of her eyelid cheek junction), and a subcilliary incision for removal of a very slight amount of eyelid skin (to improve the fine lines that were visible on her lower lids). For her upper lids, I offered a traditional blepharoplasty, to sharpen her upper lid crease and brighten the appearance of her eyes.

The patient underwent a face lift with tightening of the SMAS layer (the deeper tissues of the face), which "resets" the foundation of the muscular layer of the face thus yielding a long-lasting result. I also performed tightening of the neck musculature (an open platysmaplasty) which removes the muscular banding in the neck and sharpens the defining angle between the neck and the jaw. The upper and lower blepharoplasty procedures were performed as planned. The patient recovered very nicely, with minimal pain or bruising. She is very happy with her natural, rejuvenated appearance, and was surprised at how quickly she recovered. The photos shown were taken at 6 weeks after surgery.
